Default Need HELP finding tying supplies??

Hello fellow tiers I have a lot of tying materials but have been collecting them for years but cant get much out here where I live. No McDonalds, Walmart or bass pro well not much of anything here especially stuff to tie jigs and flies or much of any fishing tackle.

I was wondering if you guys and gals would be interested in helping me out with some places that you all use to buy your tying supplies, chenelle, tinsel, maraboo, feather/hackles, crystal flash chenelle, bucktails, kip tails and jigheads.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and would be alot easier to sit here and order it than getting in my truck and driving a 125miles to the nearest place that has any tying materials. Thanks and happy tying got to run got a few more jigs to tie up for the panfish swap almost done thanks Perch

One of the very best places to find a lot more kinds of materials and a lot more colors than most Bob Marriott's is great and has good service too. If there is a place that has more that this one I don't know who it is.
Fly Fishing Gear by Bob Marriott?s ? Fly Fishing Supplies and Equipment ? Fly Rods and Fishing Tackle ? Fly Tying Kits and Materials ? Fly Reels and Accessories ? Fly Fishing Trips ? Fishing Sunglasses - Fly Fishing Gifts ? Fly Fishin

I have used and still do at times use Barlow's, but they don't have near what Bob's does.

I buy my chenille for Danville though.

Out here we call Marriott’s - Bob's plus 10. He is usually 10% higher and with So Cal tax (think Orange County is at about 8.5%) it starts adding up. I live about 30 minutes and work about 15 minutes from Marriott’s and only go there for emergencies. You want to see some fly fishing elitist - go in the store and tell them you tie crappie jigs... They are a high end fly fishing store and would rather sell the fishing equipment. Was in there about two weeks ago to get some 3 D eyes (they carry Mirage) and the stock is getting low – on everything. They use to carry a lot of Hoffman necks now the selection is very thin.

You want some good cheap prices - check out ff46 - besides you will be supporting a CDC member. For feathers check out tackle-craft.com.

LedHed you are at a disadvantage living in Cal as we don't pay the tax buying from another state.

I agree that FF46 has a good price and supply, but Bob's may be Bob's +10 out there, but they don't charge me tax being out of state. Believe me I check all the prices.

So let just look at price and here is the same neck hackle we all use at Bob's... Bob Marriott's Fly Fishing Store - Detail1 - 0007008300 - Strung 3-5" Neck Hackle - Fly Tying Materials - Bob Marriott's Fly Fishing Store

At Barlow's... FISHING TACKLE for bass fishing, crappie, walleye, trout.Fishing lures, fishing hooks, lead molds. BARLOWS FISHING TACKLE.

They are the same as I feel sure Barlow's sells Wapsi just under their own label.
Now last time I checked $2.49 was higher than $2.25

Don't mean to ruffle feathers, but unless it's wholesale or FF46 I don't think most beat Bob's+10, LOL! Actually if FF46 is the same as Bob's then I would buy from FF46 since he is a member here. Here is a good link to that...

Since so many here seem to take exception to what I say I will kepp my mouth shut so if anyone actually wants some info from me I suggest you PM me. I am not going to have people shoot at me every chance they get.

I buy 95% of my supplies from crazyangler.com and chuckanddeb.com the other 5% is local its hard to beat either place in price and every time they have been quick and accurate with large orders.

Chuckanddeb has even refunded part ($1.50 back instead of $6 they only charged me $5) of my shipping money on the last two orders because they could fit my order in a smaller box that cost them less to ship to me. The only downside to their site is some of the products are hard to figure out as the description is sometimes not there and you just have to know what you're looking for or search another site to figure out what size or whatever you need as its hard to beat their prices.

You can't beat crazyangler.com for chenille selection and price, unless you want boring single color rayon chenilles. He has some awesome custom jig styles as well that you won't find anywhere else. Flatfish is a stand up guy and is a sponsor and active member on this forum and is the owner of crazyangler.com

grubfarmer on here also does some chenille stuff but I am not sure how active he is currently with selling chenille right now. If he does offer it though he is a stand up guy and is someone else to consider as well.
