Buckeye M. - I know the ants work well in the summer, pinmins as well, and I bought 20 of the "perch eye" jigs @ 1/64 oz. for around the cost of 4 pinmins. Didn't occur to me the ants had aberdeen hooks, would have got them with smaller hook size.

Ship - I did get them from Netcrafters.

Skip - I'll try and send some ice your way this winter.... you'll love it!

Here's the first couple I tied. The "Perch Eyes" have a white hair tail. The hackle is a dry fly hackle... the darker color is badger and the other one (red-butt ant) is a rust color I got in a kit long ago. Thinking I will also try rubber legs or wings on the ants. Still not sure what else I can do on the perch eye/crappie jigs..... maybe spin some hair. :D

Your ties look killer, you should wear out the gills with them. Something else you can do with the ant body is 2 tie some rubber legs on them. Use white legs on a orange, chartreuse, or black body, then tip. Many gills have went in the buckett using them.

Yeah, sure you won't! I've only bought 4 more since I stated as you did, I
    won't buy any more molds!!!
I've got enough jigs now to last until I'm 163 years old! (I'm 70 now).
And I just keep making more! My justification seems to be: I don't have that shape, color, material, weight and I just have to tie it:D
