The jigs are 2 inches long. They do fill out every time once you learn the proper speed to fill the mold. What you cannot see in the picture are minute grooves coming off from each tail to let the air escape. The syringe will hold 4 ounces of plastic which is more than enough to make a full shot in the mold. Because the plastic cools so quickly the plastic in the syringe is only good for one shot. Remove extra plastic from syringe, refill and make another shot.
These molds are expensive because it takes about 6 hours of machine time plus the time to create the program. I am not sure of the exact cost of the mold because I traded work for the mold. He told me that for the original to be made would run around $400.00 with additional copies of the same mold being considerably less.Expensive as a hobby but fun to catch fish on a bait you made. I have caught more than 40 fish on just one jig. They are strong and the fish love them.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.
