"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
"You don't know nothin'."
Amen. This is not informative nor entertaining. Use a Private message or email for this. There is a place to sell jigs on this site. Even for sponsors. One again this forum is getting much too commercial.
And no I don't sell jigs.
Shouldn't this be deleted, moderator?

Sorry, gettin a little hostile are we?I didnt realize that there was a c.c thread police. Tried to delete dont know how. You guys need to spend more time fishin and less time worryin about "patrolling" the threads. Didnt realize i couldnt put a compliment about someones homemade jigs in the jig making forum.

No actually, hardly any are deleted now and if you don't care for it stop holding it at the top with a reply. I think maybe some here are a bit sensitive and should just let us do our job as we see it and not as you see it.
I have seen much worse post pushing jigs that many here just jumped at the chance to say how great they looked.
My jigs are in question here, but I didn't ask him or anyone to post about them and I don't see a real problem as sales here are not at the root of this post.
I didn't see any advertising nor did I see prices or anyone asking how much. Come on guys this is not all that bad.
So move on and let it go.

Well my timing could not have been worse, or better. I havent been to this forum but a time or 2 in my days on this site but I came here (check the VA Forum, just posted it 10 min ago) with it in mind to pay a compliment and comment on my happiness and straight-up business I had with yet another forum member. I have bought handmades from quite a few dudes on here and if you cant say "hey folks, got these-nice job-I'm happy,......I just dont get it. I have never felt like I was outta line, or the "JIG TIEING/MAKING FORUM
was being taken down by my complimenting a guys' work. None before, and flatfish46 also, have not been recipients of a comment that was meant to be business-oriented. Matter-of-fact, I PMed flatfish46 earlier and asked if it was ok to make mention. I havent heard back and am here trusting that little harm should be experienced by anyone if I say hey those are nice jigs, good job, thx.
Delete this one too if that is actually (I cant believe it) how tight a ship is run on this particular forum. Wow.
Without further ado:
Heres some jigs I got in the mail today made by flatfish46. They seem to be well-tied and I am happy as a lark over em. I thought the price was consistant with the majority of tiers and doing biz with the dude was a breeze.
I used to fish a fle-fly jig yrs ago and a cpl of these are quite similar. I may have to go back and see how the dude feels about piecing together a cpl more that style.

Skip, I agree and dissagree. This is a direct as a result of a sale. It was very much innappropriate. Had this comment been as a result of a picture posted and not a jig that was sold to him I might have thought different. No there was no advertising directly. BUT, you do sell jigs, and when someone brags about one that you sold him that is in a way advertising. Like when Tiger woods wears nike shirts. If all this is kept to a minimum there would be no complaints. And there is advertising in every post that you make due to the link of your web site. I think that anything related to your sales does not belong in a jig tying/making forum. Yes, I do know that you are a sponsor. I do not have any problems with it or any posts that you do so don't get me wrong. I keep in mind the countless newbie tiers that you are the first to help out. That makes a huge difference in my eyes.
There are some that seem to lately be indirectly selling items of theirs or their buddies.
Please no one say then don't read the topic if I don't want to see this. When a read a topic that states "this is a great lure" then thinking I am going to learn something I find out that this guy is showing a lure that he got from his buddies shop and posting a link. At times it is a little aggrevating.
Please don't take it personally skip, this was not meant toward you. Being a moderator and a jig salesman you will be caught up in this every time. Everyone has a right to his opinion, and it is just that - opinion.
This is one of the biggest problems on this site. Personal attacks! No one here is trying to be a thread police. We all have a right to our opinions even you as long as it does not get personal. And you did that. If someone does not think a topic belongs in a particular forum they then get labeled by someone as trying to be some kind of police. And since this is a bulletin board you will have to put up with talk since that is the reason the board is here. I don't see any lakes on here where I can fish.
If you wantto compliment a company that sold you some lures then do so, by way of an appropriate method - email or private message.
I very seriously doubt that you meant anything by your first post. The second post you did. If Cabelas or Bass pro shops started posting pictures of the items that they have for sale there would be some real problems. No one is hostile except the knee jerk reactions with the name calling. Call them homemade jigs if you want, but they were still a commercial sale and anything that is related does not belong in a jig tying/ making forum Except maybe in the eyes of those involved in the sale. You know that you can send a private message to him but elected to post it so everyone could see. Don't get mad over the reactions. You asked for it. If anyone does not agree then let's take a poll. I have seen at least 30 complaints in different topics about this.
As far as the "sponsor stuff goes" everything I have read gives the person the right to have a business card sized signature with a link to a web site. Nothing gives them the right to conduct business via a thread in the jig tying/making forum. Not trying to be the police just abiding by the rules - and have done so since 2005.
