Yes you can't stop learning as I still try to find some new material or anything I can do different that looks good. Make something new and exciting even if it is still just a jig.
I taught myself online for the most part. I don't even live near and material shops or a big city so not much here to lean on. Never took a class, but did read a lot and mostly learned on fly tying sites so it's good that we can bring some of that to jig tying and share info.
Ask questions and that is a big key to pick up some subtleties that are not necessarily open so you can see them without someone telling you.
One thing I learned early on is when you start tying a jig that is say 1/8oz or larger you need to double wrap it if using #2 or even #3 size chenille. So some of my very first looked okay, but they sure were skinny looking, LOL! So glad that time is past.
