Default Biggest jig I ever tied!!

This guy sent me this 1/4 oz jig with a 3/0 hook. He said he is fishing for 2+ pound crappie and wanted me to tie some up. Told him the largest I had was a #2 hook.
Why in heck he is using something this big.
Told that it should be used for Muskie on Northern Pike. Not crappie

You have any 1/4 oz jigs that have that 2/0 sickle?
He only wants a dozen and I can't seem to find any that have a sickle. He sent me that one

A 2/0 hook in a 1/4 oz. is actually kinda small. I have put 5/0 in them in the past...Not the easiest thing to do but can be done none the less. If I have some 2/0 red in stock I am sure I could come up with something. I know I have 3/0 and 4/0 in red, but will have to check on the 2/0.

I would use those for sea bass and salmon here, nor crappie but a 2#er is hard to come by here.

I wonder if that 2/0 sickle would stand up to a hard fighting salmon?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

Fished in Minnesota one time for Walleye and the Boys up there fish 1/2 oz jigs with 3/0 hooks.the shanks they told me were 4X long. and we caught fish on those big old buggers. Not for crappies in Texas 1/8 pz. is about the biggest I use.

I tie some 1/2 oz bucktail jigs for umbrela rigs and for casting.
    Use for strippers here.

    Default big jig you say!

Yeah, I tied a big one once for a fellow that was being picked on by his peers for catching littrle crappie. I put an end to that with this jig.

Man that's hilarious, Paw Paw. I love the pic with the hook in the mouth of the mount.

    Awesome!
