Default New material for me and looking for opinions.

I got some new material and really it took me a few weeks to decide how to try it on a jig. Well here is a picture of one I tied this morning and just would like to have others take a look and tell me what you think of this. I see lots of flies tied with busy looking buggy stuff so am thinking maybe this will work like they do. Have this in lots of colors and looks awesome for flash and color.

You are right on the flash and color Skip, but I just can't think outside the bun. I like a sleek, baitfish look on my jigs
"Mister, I love the way you wear that hat."
    "You don't know nothin'."

Well I need to put it in the water so see how is acts. I am hoping the long tentacles will pulse and make it look alive and now so bulky as it look here dry, but I don't know yet. Think I am going to see what it does right now.

    Thanks,

Just tried it in a bowl and it was in some ways like I though and others it was different. Once wet and I pulled it out of the water is slimmed down hugging the rest of the jig and when back in the water it loosened up some and I think it looks pretty darn good in the water. Kind of surprised.

Thanks & will do! At first I was not very excited about this stuff as I couldn't see how I wanted to try tying it. Then I tried it as a collar on a white jig with red this material. It looked okay and all, but once I decided to try this I am coming around to it some and I think it just may do well. May be a while before I do any fishing with it hitting 100 every day, but sooner or later I will give it a shot.

I think it will work well. my hair jigs flair out the same way, 1/16 oz., and they catch fish, I do tip them tho. I have looked at lots of sythetics to replace the kiptail hair, but alot of it has no stiffness, to keep it from fouling around the hook, but I really like the flashy look, killer.

No, LOL! It is a flash material used for fly tying.
