See how much flair you got out of the marabou? Looks good to me. If just bream you are after then length can be a hard to get down thing. However I have people tell me I should make my tails shorter for crappie, but man a crappie has one big mouth and have never had trouble with them short striking. Know a guide that ties lots of craft fur and uses the entire length and catchses lot of crappie.
So for me length is one of the things you should jut try and see how it works or if they all miss the hook you then know for sure it's too long, but I would let them tell me that before I tied up a bunch of really short tails. Just my opinion here though and bream do have that pick pick thing that makes for some short striking, but I personally think if they eat it then it will not matter.
If the little perch miss it what is the difference anyway?
My last word on crappie and tail length, I like a longer tail because you get more action out of that.
