12 is OK by me, it just might go that big if you leave it open for awhile. Just not sure, haven't seen a whole lotta people post rabbit jigs on here. You guys who have signed up and fish rabbit jigs, do you use them more for fish other than crappie? Bass are the only other fish I've used them for, but have heard of using them for trout and on musky baits.......

Gotta start thinking of what I wanna tie... may have to make out an order.... Oh darn! :p

Wabbit is good material for leeches. Nearly everything that swims eats leeches. One of the absolute best BIG bluegill baits is little leeches. When it comes to live leeches I am talking ribbon leeches.

This one lake before they drained it was my favorite place to whomp on gills with the little live leeches. The bait shop I got them from would always save them for me. Nobody wanted the little ones they all wanted big ones for walleye or bass fishing. Number 8 hook tiny split shot and an ice fishing bobber at about 5'.

The bunny leech does not work as good as the real ones but they do work. Large perch also relish small leeches but I have yet to catch a perch on a fake leech.

If you have northern pike near you they love rabbit jigs. The bigger the better and run a longer tail than usual.

Trout of course on the famous Zonkers and they will hit a leech imitation also.
Rabbit is a great material to learn to tie. I hoped by running a jig swap with rabbit it would encourage a few more to try it.

Like I say once you see it move in the water you will see why rabbit haas a lot of fans.

I caught a nice male rainbow trout the other night on a shad head jig with a strip of black on top and grey on the bottom. I wasn't paying attention as it was just a dead fishing day and it hit the jig once when I wasn't paying attention and my fishing partner saw it and told me I had a hit and it came back and hit it again, this time I got it and as I was fighting it the first hit came floating up, it bit off part of the tail section!

ok guys we only got 7 tyers, How about we tie two different jig patterns ?

Each tyer then would tie a total of 12 jigs 6 of each.

How about the other six of you PM me ? It will have to be unanimous just vote yes or no ? No we tie 6 all yeses we tie 12.

If i get just 1 no we will then tie 6. No reason has to be given and only I will konw. So if for any reason you do not want to tie 12 just say no.

Fairest way I could think of. I will of course post how many after everyone PM's me.
