    Default Custom Rod

Yeah JJJ, I've been building them for around 35 years now. I'm not a sponsor,
but I've gotten so much info on CDC that I thought I'd give a little something back. I've had a lot pleasure from the rods I built for myself over the years and thought someone could enjoy the rod as well. You're right......custom
rods rock! It's like using a chisel rather than a screwdriver to do the job:D

Yes your right on that one the lottery is a long shot for sure but I still have my fingers crossed. I just got home from work at 12:30am and was thinking about how nice and how many fish I will be catching off that new custom rod you are making. Thats a great prize for sure and really cool of you to do.

I have never bought a custom rod as there arent any custom rod makers way out in redneckville, Wyoming. We have 2 stop lights and no walmart, kmart or anything like that and just one grocery store. But if you want beer theres plenty of bars and places to buy beer, but I like to spend my money on better things like family, fishing, tackle making and spending time outdoors.

guess someone is just gonna have to be lucky

    Default small towns

I hear ya Perch! I live on a 9000 acre lake which is nice but, I'm 15 miles
from anything. Although there is a Wally World 15 miles from here and a couple of big grocery stores. I wouldn't have it any other way! Aside from
gas costs(I drive a Suburban!) we have deer, fox, eagles, coons, turkeys,
and other wildlife coming in the yard frequently. We too have many beer joints and supper clubs. I gave up the booze 40 years ago when I realized
they could make it faster than I could drink it:D. There are a lot of rod builders out there, but they don't sell their rods and ya don't know they're there unless you're a friend or they advertise. Well, good luck to you and
all the other tiers on the rod!!

thanks again CR3 for donateing a custom rod to one of us lucky tiers. I havent been here long on Crappie.com but can see myself being here for a long time to come and wish I would have found you all sooner.

Yup Im like you to dont have much around here as for shopping but I was born and raised here in this small well its 2 small towns hooked together and I love it. We have great fishing all around us and lots of wildlife to, elk, deer, antelope, moose, fox, coyotes, wolves, bears, sage grouse, water foul birds and lots of other things to see and experience way up here in the mountains. Its a great place to be other than I wish we had some panfish closer by as my wife, kids and I love to fish for them as much as we can.

Default Crunch time for panfish jig swap!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the swap! We have 20 tiers so far
and a nice prize for one of them. If you've been thinking about signing up
now is the time to jump in! We have jigs being tied from 15 different states,
that will give us a wide range of what's being used to fool the panfish!
Tomorrow for those newer tier I'll give detailed instructions how to package and ship them to make it easier for you and me. I'll also PM all tiers with my address. It's been fun replying to all of you, now it's time to sit down at the vise and tie, tie tie

    Default Names

That's a great name for a panfish jig! You guys knock me out with some of
the names ya come up with. You all should have been ad writers or marketing
men. Hopefully I've learned to post pics on CDC, so as soon as I start getting the jigs in I'll post the pic. My first love is building rods, then tieing jigs and making buzz baits, spinner baits and other lures. If I had any other hobbies, I'd be broke:D Good luck in the drawing for the custom rod!

Well I finished up 20 jigs today and they are called The Brim Gem. 1/100 head with a #8 hook, deer hair, orange rubber legs, cream chennile, chartruse maribou and black tying thread, black powder paint. They are kinda plain looking but they catch fish. I have had a lot of fun using this pattern. Caught gills crappie warmouth catfish and lm bass with this little guy. Hope you guys enjoy it.......brim
