This is from a lake in Utah thats 3 1/2 hours away when the roads are good and took me 5 hrs to get to the lake with icey snow packed roads.

This bluegill was caught on my secret jig I'm tying up for the swap. Hope it works as good for you as it does for me.

    Default Nice Blue Gill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That my friend is one fine Bluegill!
I would have mounted that one also. They just don't come much bigger
    these days.
The biggest Gill I ever saw was in a fish display box in northern Wisconsin.
It was in 1960 (some of you weren't even a fingerling yet!) Some guy
caught two bluegills, one was 2 3/4 pounds and the "little one" was 2 1/2
pounds They looked like dinner plates with a mouth and tail!
My biggest to date is 1lb 4 oz. must have been a grandson to the one you caught

Hey thanks its my biggest so far but always trying for a bigger one. Only thing that drives me crazy is my dad caught 3 bluegills about 3 years ago that were bigger than mine and threw them back. He just laughed and said you cant teach this old dog any new tricks, I told you I would get one bigger. LOL

I have some pictures some where of him holding one up bigger than mine and he caught it on a small rapala fishing for largemouth bass. Well its all good that he out fished me as we had a great time and made some great memories that day and have some pictures to prove it.

    Default Go ahead Mike

Tie em up! It's kinda late to add anything to the swap, but I made an exception with the 1/100 oz jig as I didn't realize so many tied that small.
So I guess 1/24 will be OK too. It is in the range of smaller jigs for bream that we're looking for.

    Happy tieing
