    Anybody been fishing? I made it out a cople of times during the spawn, but haven't seen the water since :/

    I've been checking in here, but no one seems to want to share thier stories lately. It may be several more weeks before I get near the water, so I'll have to live vicariously through your posts for a while... Come on guys, give me something!!

    Hi Galen,
    I did pretty good on crappie for a while, but never really got many in the shallows (Big Creek). Most of my limits were caught 10-14 ft deepin the brush piles. A couple weeks ago, the bite died off, but the gill spawn was on. Big Creek has some good gills. Last Saturday, caught my limit along the shore in about 1.5-2 hours. Along with that, 4 crappie, 2 white bass, and 2 15-16 inch (non-keeper) lm bass. It was a good couple hours of fishing! Went out the next day before church. Was on the lake about 5:30, was off in 1.5 hour with 19 nice gills, and still had time to clean up for Sunday 9 a.m. church. Size on the gills were 8-9 inch. I went out this morning before church, to see if the spawn was still on. In about an hour, had 8. Spawn is definitly about done, and the size is down. May have to start looking for deep crappie

    Spent last week at Rathbun. Just one good day. Had 20 fish at 23.8 pounds My last day. Fished the main lake at the mouth of every cove out there. 18 to 20 foot of water fishing 8 to 10 foot down. Blue and chatruse 16th oz. hand tied jigs. This week been catfish Miis. pool 16. Really doing well and it,s hard to quit while they are spawning.
