Muddy water is good fishing back in the brush. They can't see you and with a black/chartreuse jig tipped with a minnow you can slay them. Muddy is good with a 12 foot pole and this setup. Trust me

Thanks for the info on the water level and water clarity. I will keep these in mind when I go. We tried going in to the willows, but didn't have any luck.
Thanks
Matt

if you haven't fished this way before, bring the jig right to the tip of the pole by pulling the line at the reel with your left hand (if right hand is holding the rod). Stick the rod tip/jig right into the brush and slowly release the line in your left hand so that jig falls slow in the brush. If you get hung up. Bring the pole tip right to the jig in the water and push/wiggle until it's free. If you get a good one on, bring him right to the pole tip just like the jig and pull him out. It's a blast and works everywhere during spring!
