    Default Raccoon Lake/Cataract

anyone fished Raccoon or Cataract this summer and if so did you do any good. Its been about 3 yrs since I fished Raccoon and 10 yrs since Cataract. Took my boat to Raccoon a week or so ago for its initial test run to see if there were any bugs and it looks like all the big tree tops I used to fish are gone or have moved somewhere else. Did find a couple rivets leaking on boat, the 9.9 Suzuki 4 stroke ran excellent though. Come on cool weather.

I haven't been to Raccoon since spring. To hot & crowded for me ! That's the problem with a flood control lake the high water can change a lake in a hurry. I need to get out one of these days before fall & try out my new trolling motor. Maybe I will see you on the water this fall.

Forgot I did try my new trolling motor and it worked great also.Hopefully will see you out there also. I think I'm going to end up taking my middle seat out of boat as its going to be a pain getting back and forth to trolling motor.

I saw a post the other day with some pictures of nice crappie out of Cataract. It's usually worth a try.

Caught some big crappie out of cataract back when I used to fish it, caught most of them drifting sideways in john boat with the wind. Caught some big channels while doing this also.
