    Default Mississinewa update 4/15

Went out to get launch permit sticker yesterday and figured I'd do some scouting on a windy day. The main lake/res. was still high, about 7' over summer pool but beginning to clear up. Water temp was 52*. Hogsback area was flooded up and muddy, nowhere that was really fishable. Went up to the 1812/ trails end area , water very high and muddy. Looks like more rain early next week. Not sure how low they will take the lake. Anyone be out and tried ? Might try thy main lake this weekend if weather works out. I still have hope . Carry on.

Thanks for the update, you mean lake permit or are they calling them launch permits again?

Ya same thing I guess, the $25 sticker to launch a boat on DNR properties. They are blue this year.

Have not been out. Had thought about heading up river this weekend to check it out but after seeing this i guess i wont. Rain coming deffinitely not going to help anything. Im sure below the dam will be on fire whenever they start slowing the output but going there does a number on my blood pressure lol.

Still coming out pretty fast and muddy, was empty when I went down there the other day.

But you can bet "those people" will be down there doing what they do. I went down there for the first time in 7 years last year and I won't go back. A culture of ignorance and disrespect.

Made it up river today, water at normal summer level and slightly stained at 57* . Fish were scattered and bite was hit and miss, both white bass and crappie. Might try out on the main lake Monday, it's at summer pool and looks like they are keeping it there for now. Carry on.

I tried a couple spots up river yesterday never found anything. Decided to head back and try a couple spots on the lake instead of searching further up river. Hit goose creek first and struck out there too. But i did see a boat catching some rightbup on the bank by the brush. They were using minnows though and i was using jigs. Left there and tried off the rocks on the dam. Water up there was complete chocolate milk but caught 5 crappie and 3 largemouth. As soon as it clears it should be fire.

Ya, I didn't have much luck up river either. Plan on hitting the main lake after this weeks rain. Looks like an inch to a inch and a half total by Friday. Not going to help the water conditions. Water temps are perfect.
