    Default Monroe/Lemon

If you’re thinking of fishing Lake Lemon Saturday, they have a Lake Lemon Boogie at the park Saturday. Not sure when it starts,,but parking will be super tight as well as ramp might be a zoo.

Lake Monroe is 11.9 up this morning..and not dropping as they are not letting out. Very stained to muddy waters but fish are catchable. Indiana Slab Masters had a toruney last weekend and several fish caught over 2 lbs. Very nice weigh in and Kudos to the winners.

Hard question to answer as I always argue with others you can’t go by surface temp. Why not? Surface temp is not going to be the same 10 ft deep or even deeper can be colder. Size of the lakes also..fish will spawn in certain areas but not all fish will spawn at the same time depending their locations on the lakes. Also,,,you have 2 entirely different bodies of water. Lemon is a shallow lake with an average depth of 10’ and 1700 acres in size. Monroe is a much deeper lake..and size right now due to it being 11.9’ up..making it as much as 15k acres now. I think some fish will be spawning or getting real close..but in both lakes,,I have caught fish as late as middle of June still spawning depending on the areas of Monroe I am fishing as well as Lemon. I fish lemon most of the time with crankbaits in 10-12’ of water as deep as I can pull them without them hitting the bottom and catch larger fish than most will catch fishing jigs or minnows shallow or even pulling them. Monroe…it depends where I’m fishing and how I’m fishing. Right now,,throwing jigs in flooded brush,,bobbers with minnows or jigs cast into flooded brush willl produce or pulling cranks or jigs across flat bay areas..(Spawning areas). At 75 it’s my style of fishing. But..not all fish will spawn at the same time. I think this year,,with our rolacoster weather, the high and low air temps,,these large storms dumping lots of cool water in the lakes here,,Also..cold nights will keep water temps from rising as fast as they could. A lot of variables affect fish spawns but next few weeks is prime time fishing for this area of Indiana.
