At this time of the year, and as low as the lake is of which is normal pool, if you get out of the river channel of which is not very wide, you will end up on mud flats. It’s not worth it for me to go upstream above hwy 42 bridge, but each to their own. If you read all the previous posts on the Cat, you will find crappies being caught in 8’ to 12’ of water off edges of points and flats. Good luck fishing.
