I'll be camping in Brown County this weekend and will have a few hours to fish Saturday afternoon. I've never fished the area other than Monroe, what are some other lakes/streams/creeks down there I can hit up? Would also like to rent a canoe to fish from if possible, but will bank fish if I have too. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

Are you camping in Brown County State Park?
There are 2 lakes in the State park. Not sure I would give either a lot of time. Yellowwood lake is a 100+ acre lake about 5 miles west of Nashville. It has boat rental and the fishing was good there at one time. I have not been there for several years. Atterbury Fish and Wildlife area has some descent fishing but there is not any boat rental. If I think of anything else I will let you know.
If you enjoy river smallmouth you can rent a canoe at Blues Canoe Livery near I-65 and US31. Their trips take you through some of the best river smallmouth fishing in southern Indiana. The trip starts on Sugar creek and ends on Driftwood river. It may be a longer trip than you have time for. It is a good 4 hour trip.
Yeah thats a little too long, and a little out of the way. I've been researching Yellowwood Lake. Sounds like it use to hold a lot of bluegills but has died off since the dredging. Hopefully it has made a comeback because I would love to catch some fat gills. Also is there a bait shop near in Nashville? The only one I know in the area is the fishin shedd
Yea, I have not been there since it was dredged and restocked. It was a very clear lake. I think they also did some work on the damn. If I think of something else I will post. I run around the Columbus, Taylorsville, Edinburgh, and Nineveh areas. Not sure about bait shops. I will put some feelers out on that for you and post if I hear anything.
Thanks jpdawg. I think I'll just get some wigglers and bee moths. I can pick them up almost anywhere.
