Changed it up this evening and got a nice mess of Missy bluegills. Quality of gills seems to be up this year, we caught a couple reallly nice ones but all were solid fish. Caught them on red worms fished 2-4 feet deep. Crappie bite was non existant until almost dark. Caught 4 with only one being a keeper. Will probably try again later this week weather permitting, probably go after some gills again.

Got out on Friday, got a few nice gills, but only crappies were a few dinks. Water was clear and 72* that morning, likely warmer now.

Caught 12 slabs today , took 5 hours , but worth it. 2 was over 13 1/2 inches, still full of eggs. While taking a crappie the other pole started to move on the ground, had to step on the handle, Lol a cat bout had it

Funny how this theard started. Year of the Dink's I believe. Funny how things change. Its for sure no doubt the year of fat fish. All fish in lake are fat and healthy. Its been great that's for sure. Keep up the good work boys.

I started the thread and was just reporting what I had caught. Never said year of the dinks that's just what I caught. Maybe when I grow up I can catch fat and healthy fish like you....good job Mr. Crushed.

Holy cow. I wasn't bashing anyone. Just saying lakes in good shape. This why am not on here much. I was impressed by reports.

Not been out in awhile wondering if they are done up in the river?

eggs in them indeed. mite have been a bad spawn this year, around here. we seemed to go from 50-75* in a real hurry! many mite not have had time to romance it up.

If you have a surface temp right now of 80 degrees, go swimming and see what the temp of the water is 10' down. At 15' down its even more cold. I have wore a wet suit in the dead of summer scuba diving strip pits around clay county checking bass and fish out when it's 90 on the surface and it's very cold the deeper you go. Spawn is on but not all fish spawn at the same time and we had a colder than normal spring this year according to our weathermen. Bass are still spawning on East Fork of the White River in Martin Co. right now. Not all of the Kentuckies have spawned out yet.
