After 5 days of rigging new G3 1648 jon boat,,hit the water this morning at 7am long lining jigs and tubes with crappie nibbles,,for a hour caught about 20 mostly under 10,,several over 9" crappies,,kept 6 over 10-11" then switched out the rods, to my trolling bandit gear..and picked up another dozen mostly all females 11 to 13.5" . Trolling speed was 1.4 to 1.8mph, depth of the bandits were 8' with most of the 12 and up size picked up in 10-11 ft of water in the bays. Water temp was 72 starting out on this foggy morning and when I got off lake at noon it had climbed to 77 or so. The 16 keepers that I kept,,6 which were all 10-11 were males, rest were all females chocked full of eggs and the 6 biggest came out of 10 ft of water so they are getting ready to spawn I am guessing. Mad Cow and a blue gill color was the hotties. Probably caught 60 or so fish total. Crazy fishing on the Cat.

I know they all work great, but I have about 100 bandits to use, besides 2 flats or more of Bagley basal B's, tons of Big O's, Rebels of all kinds, mud bugs, 40 or more rapalas of various sizes, shad raps, rattle traps, can't begin to name them all....don't mention spinners, boxes of arkey jigs, artificial worms,,etc, etc, you name it from Bassin days, can't ever use up what I got, aren't we all tackle poor?![]()

FISH for LIFE
HUMANKIND......be both
My nephew and I had a same conversation yesterday while doing some bass fishing. We both have so much equipment, lures, bags of plastics and assorted stuff. I can never use it all. I have said for years that I can take everything I need for a days fishing in a one pound coffee can. Maybe we should donate most of this "stuff" to organizations that sponser kids or take kids fishing. Don't know of anyone doing that in our county.

I can vouch for the crappie still having eggs. We are in north central Indiana. The wife caught a 13 in. crappie on a small lake near here, just before we got a storm. I had to clean it because it swallowed the hook bad. It was full of eggs. Its been a crazy year. Lol
Fishy Fishy in da brook, come bite on Grandpa's hook!
