Slightly OT. Do you think the quality of the crappie on Crab are a little better this year than last. Only got out a couple of hours earlier this week and kept 26. Didn't seem like I had to toss back as many as last year and had a lot of decent filets at the end of the evening. Last year I'd had to catch 120 to keep 20.

Last year I fished Rend more because Crab seemed to have more dinks. This year seems to be the opposite for me.

I live in Muncie and fish Prairie Creek a lot - was there today. Don't expect much of any real size, though sometimes you get lucky. I only get to fish from the bank right now, so I can't really say about it from a boat.

Looks like it might be a challenge. Personally, I love bank fishing.

i have been known to fish other species when the crappie aren't bitting. What is the most prominent type of fishing up there?

also, if you hear of any nice lakefront houses for sale PM me.

Well, I have heard that Walleye is suppose to be very good at Prairie Creek, and I have caught a few decent ones during spawn. But people fish for bass, walleye, and crappie mostly here. You could also travel to Brookville lake, mostly bass there from what I hear. I like going south to Monroe sometimes, rent a boat and do fairly well with just a topo map And if you mean any lakefront around Prairie Creek - good luck. I think there is only 1 house that is ON the rez.

Just a tip though, not much in Muncie. So, hope whatever reason you might move here is a good one. I am finishing schooling and moving.

You will have several lakes within an hours drive that will produce good crappie fishing for you. You will have to learn the lakes like you did in Illinois, but you will have success if you put in the time. Don't forget to add Geist and Morse to the list of lakes that can produce quality fish.

Prairie Creek and Summit Lake are close. I've not fished PC much but I've been to Summit a lot and I'm still figuring that lake out. I seem to catch more yellow perch than crappie. Mississinewa, Salamonie, and Huntington all reasonable close up I69. I've not had my boat up to those yet. I have have family in southern IN so a good portion of my fishing is down there (Hardy, Patoka, etc..). I've been behind this year and haven't even got the boat out yet. Between the weather and working around the house I haven't had time yet.
