    Default Patoka 4-17

Put in at Lick Fork with water high and stained, Temp was 60 and 64 at 100 when I took out. Found fish 13 to 17 feet over weeds and brush but nothing of any size to keep. Was swimming a 1/24 Bobby Garland mo glo jig with curly tails in Tennesee shad and black and chartuse. Tried several colors and styles but nothing would bring in any keepers. Water was clearer than I expected.

No and I was disappointed they were not. I really enjoy dipping in the brush with a 10 footer and with the high water it could be a ball. Not on this day tho. Seems to be an odd year. My two trips to Kentucky have not turned out as I would like. Caught lots of fish but too many shorts with a few 13 to 15's in the mix. The river may not get right for crappie this season either. But, morels are here now and seems to be lots of them!
