Take a look at the article and be careful if you fish any of the lakes mentioned. The state of Kentucky had a bad problem with this stuff statewide last year in a lot of lakes.

It's most harmful for jet skiers, tubers and wake boarders. It would be best if they just stayed at home.![]()
why they do that? seems this would be important.
Don't let your dogs swim or drink from affected lakes and ponds. It can kill them.
Blue-Green Algae has been around the 3 states OKI for years... brookville lake posted warnings 3 years ago, ohio has it most lake... it in the ohio river & creeks... if you ask they will say dont drink the water, it does not harm the fish? it will kill small pets, rabb & squ... it smell bad, look bad & hurts your throat & burns your eyes... it get real bad before it get better,,,

In 2001, a new
planktonic blue-green alga,
Cylindrospermopsis, was identified in several
reservoirs and lakes in Indiana. This organism can probably be considered
invasive, as it was first described in India in the early 1900s, had spread to
Australia by the 1980s, and appeared in Florida lakes in the 1990s. This
organism is thought to produce toxin continuously, not sporadically like our
native blue-greens.

these arent the only lakes to have it either. they are just the ones they tested. it was bad aat cedarville last year but you never heard anything and no signs posted! dont assume the water is safe assume it is not.
