Default Nightcrawlers out thick due to rain.

Anybody pick up nightcrawlers anymore? I just picked up about 10-15 doz. in 30 min due to the rain we have had in this warm weather. They are out thick. So far I have registered 4.3 inches of rain and we are going to have severe flooding before this is over with. When the water goes down,,will seine some creek chub minnows also. Great to fish with.

GF took dog out before bed last night an said they were everywhere. Minnows? I always have a few left over, started putting them in an old above ground pool. Was going to take down. But now just put my trap in night before. Can't BELIVE they made it after it got so cold this winter. Daughter says I'm a Redneck.

Stopped at Bass Pro yesterday in Clarksville. Their side walks were covered in crawlers and worms. Patoka and the other lakes will have plenty of water a lot of which will be muddy for a few days. W. Boggs looked like it was up at least a foot. The river at Shoals looked like came up at least 3 feet in the five hours between crossings. I am still going somewhere today, just don't know where that may be.

i looked last night but its still too cold here. been picking nightcrawlers for bait since i could walk. lol back cant take too much these days though. the nights that they come out on the roads aer prime. i use an old spatula to flip them up in a bucket. you can really get them fast that way!

our river went from 8ft to 19 over the last 24hours. everything is under water around here.

I like to catch fish best on material things (a little string, sparkle and feathers). However, I'm guilty too of collecting a few for bait. I mean, I didn't want to step on em and they had the entire walkway covered. It's funny because I used a spatula too! My kids may never eat pancakes again after witnessing that. I just don't know if I can actually go through with piercing them. The last time I tried to put a poor worm on a hook it squirmed, and curled, and curled some more. Then I walked it over to a nice patch of dirt and turned it free. So basically, unless these crawlers cooperate better, they are just along for a camping trip.
