Monroe is great when high at least when they are letting out small amounts of water which is what they are doing now sometimes no report means they are catching them and not telling

As soon as weather breaks this week, going to Monroe and do some long lining till midnite for the eyes...on the Indiana walleye forum, I don't find anybody fishing Monroe yet..but I have a couple of friends that are doing good fishing the minnows in the timber catching a few big crappies and gills during the day after sorting the dinks out...can't figure out why we are not hearing more reports as Monroe is all but 9' high and its good when high if you get the right temps to match the water. Need to fish it before they start pulling and dropping it.I'd fish all nite for a couple of good eating eyes.

Not very many members on that forum... and most are hammering Prairie Creek, Bass Lake, and Brookville right now for the eyes..and rest are waiting on better weather...well,,,this weather is the best your going to get for now.Fishing on Monroe should be interesting as likely to find them in the flooded timber now.
nice report cevans what was the water temp.
When I was at Patoka last Sat...water temps started out that morning on Painter Creek at 56,,dropped to 55 about all the way out to main lake. Then later in the day,,bounced up to 57.8. Wonder how low they are now after all this cold? Couple of people was telling me Monroe got up to 54. One of those is a friend that was fishing it almost daily using minnows and also throwing jigs in timber. I haven't heard how far its set back. But yesterday,,they increased the pull out both to 550cfs or more. So they are starting to pull water as soon as they can to drop both. Today,,Monroe is 1000cfs and Patoka is up to 652 cfs,,and as East Fork lowers,,they are sure to increase the outflow even more. Anybody got the current temps please post. Thx. Painter kind of reminded me like Caddy Shack. They had a couple of bass toruneys going on. Even saw a couple of pleasure boaters out. Everybody running wide open going back and forth and only fishing a spot every 15 minutes then moving on. I have a bad feeling,,its going to be really ugly when this weather finally breaks.
