    Default South Western IN report

So, I got out there and worked over these old weak fishin muscles. The sun came out and a eastly breeze came up. My bfb got off work early so we went to a private sand pit that we had never been on. I was surprised that it was so deep. It had some beaver brush on a bank that tapers to 4 feet then dropped almost straight down. Water temp was a surprising 50 degrees and gin clear.
Banking only produced an occasional turd bass. We finally found a 50 yard strip where the water came to 8 feet and was covered in short brush and weeds. Swimming and perch jerking curly tails in blue, blacks put 20 nice crappies in the cooler. Most were just eaters but some run up to 12 inches. We put back lots of smaller fish and bass. The east wind didn't bother the fish too much, they were hungry and lovin that sun. Next week is lookin decent.

This weather this week will get the fish going. A couple of days sun will do wonders. My week is clear except for one day and I plan to live on a lake near me. Not sure where. I have West Boggs five minutes away, Dogwood 30 minutes and Patoka less than an hour away. I may do all three. I like Boggs for early spring bassin so I may work that in as well. Stopped by West Boggs earlier. Must have been a bassin tourny with all the big boats. Just glad it wasn't me with the temps being 38 a stiff NW wind and light rain still falling. Just takes one big bass to be worth it though.

Whaler....kinda like you,,,as I was forced to retire last year from my job. Been waiting on the weather to soften up and going to pound it hard beginning this week and everyday its not crappy as I can pick and choose where I go as well as when I go. Freezer is going to fill up again with fish as I already still have couple hundred pounds of processed deer still in it and been enjoying it after pounding them this last season. Lookout mushrooms, turkeys, and fish!! And,the rivers are going to raise a bit and so will the lakes with all the rain we been getting..last 2 days I have measured 1.8 inches of rain and more on the way.
