58 on the weather bug,,56 on the house, So far today,,had 4 huge flocks of whooping cranes go over the house heading north. Birds singing,,saw 2 flys on the porch. lol. Couldn't stand it any longer, and so I dug the Jon boat on its trailer out of 2 ft. of piles of snow and put it in the heated garage to put all back together, get cleaned up and ready. I know the ice is still 8" thick around us but the East Fork of the White River is now free of ice and can at least launch and try for some Smallmouth, Kentucky, and lg.mouth Bass when the boat is cleaned and put back together. Already worked over all the Rods/reels and tackle boxes. Getting really close to Rock and Roll time for sure. How many others have the itch that won't quit itching?![]()

you can fish around docks at Patoka where the bubblers keep water from freezing
Don't forget about Turtle Creek at the power plant. Still crappie there to been had
When is the last time you fished for crappies in Turtle Creek? Since they killed all the grass there,,and its become polluted, about the only fish I have heard coming out of Turtle Creek is catfish? I could be wrong, but googled this article for everybody to read. I used to occasionally fish it but not in quite a few years when they started having fishing problems.

I'd be happy with just the average for this time of year, is a little stability too much to ask...
I fish there all the tine. I catch some crappie there each spring. I start fishing in January this year I had to wait till February. My largest crappie has been 2 lb 8 oz from there.
