    Default Walleye in Patoka

Have never fished Patoka and I'm wondering if the walleye are legal size? Looking for something to fish for besides crappie.

Yep - they're finding them in there up to and over 24" already. Seem to be doing well, both above (in the lake) and below the dam.

I have taken a few at 4lbs,,and quite a few small ones under 14 inches when trolling crankbaits and long lining RR with curley tail grubs in chartreuse color and orange/yellow color but hard to locate. Quite a few people catch them off the points and rocky areas fishing minnows as they are fishing for crappies. My best luck is spring, early summer before the water hits 80 degrees. I have tried them at the dam area at nite and painters creek area,,but hard to find even using crawler setups as well as minnows. Hard to pattern even tho over the years DNR has released a lot of fry. Good luck in your endevors.

I have tried numerous times to fish just for walleye at Patoka as well as Monroe. I mostly luck into them while fishing for crappies. I think your best walleye fishin bar none Is Brookville.
