    Default Zebra Mussels

I live on Little Chapman Lake and the zebra mussels were really bad this year. When I pulled my boat out of the lake this fall; I scraped off two and a half pounds of zebra mussels. They were on everything this year, a lot worst than in other years. After reading up on them and seeing how they're effecting the fishing in Lake Michigan, I'm wondering how they will effect the fishing on my lake. From what I can find out zebra mussels are in most of the lakes in northern Indiana. Anyone know how this will effect the fishing? Will we end up with a bunch of "dead seas"?

My brother and his girlfriend have a place on Big Chapman. I need to ask him if he noticed any on his boat....it was his first year up there.

they have cleared some of the waters around here. that made the weeds grown like crazy. i think it will have more effect on the shallower, previously stained waters. time will tell though.

they were really thick on Brookville this year too. didn't notice until they started dropping the lake. from 1ft to 8ft every rock, twig, stump, pop can was covered with zebra muscles. every year tends to be different. it seems like they have had a positive impact on Brookville with the shallow weed growth and the clairity of the water. maybe this is why the smallmouth fishing seems to get better every year.
