I haven’t figured it out either. I don’t use it enough and have removed most of the components from my boat. When the weather cools I will most likely remove it completely.i hope you have better success than me.

Been using livescope almost four years. I have caught a ten fish limit twice in those four years. Playing with it yesterday caught three shorts and a 6.32 lb flathead which was pretty fun on a 14ft pole. Everyone keeps telling me that it takes time to learn it just keep trying. At 76 years of age I am not sure I have enough time left.

When I got my Livescope I had the help of 3 local Sacalait Slayers who all caught thousands of sacalait but had used different fishing techniques to do so.
Going Catching first showed me Livescope in action which changed my fishing strategy completely. I had never caught a crappie until that day. CajunRay showed me different Sacalait fishing styles, different jigs and rod/ reel combos. Rojo taught me about using electronics just to locate and verify that the crappie were there. Once verified then the real fishing techniques come into play.
All 3 of these mentors suggested Time on the water! In order to become a better fisherman.
When I first installed my Livescope I made several trips without a fishing pole in the boat. After tuning my unit to all the suggested settings I saw on UTube I’d hit factory reset to clear out the settings and do it again. I spent entire days just slowly scoping the bayous near my house and marking waypoints where I saw Sacalait.
I watched any and all UTube post about Livescopeing. Knowledge is power and once you get the knowledge you gain confidence and with that confidence comes success on the water.
Bon Temps!
Out of the box LS settings not too bad but reduce the forward range to 30ft and bottom range to 2x depth of water. You can reset defaults anytime and start over. Wouldn't hurt to have an experienced liar go with ya .

When it comes to fishing, my 60-some years of angling pursuits have consistently proven that the KISS method is THE BEST & MOST ENJOYABLE APPROACH TO FISHING BY FAR.

Count me in that boat as well, had my LS about 3 years and still confused with it
I had a guide friend of mine get in my boat one evening to see what was wrong with my setup .Using my boat my livescope, my rod ,my bait, just about as I normally use it and caught 7 or 8 fish in about a half hour. Pretty well told me it wasn't anything but the guy on the end of the fishing pole. One of the problems I see is my trolling motor mounts on the left side of the boat which creates a changing angle when moving from side to side ,but it didn't stop my friend from catching um. In four years I would think I would have learned to adjust for that. I can leave my livescope off and go catch them like I used to.Not the greatest catcher ever but getting a ten fish limit was the norm. I guess the challenge of catching them like my friends is what is driving me to keep trying.Just venting a little frustration but right now I can't wait to go again. As with any other method it is very rewarding when you can catch them like most other people are doing.
