P.S. I was on call with Congressman Bost a while back where little grassy was a major topic. Don't remember details now; but I know he is aware.

Didn't they have to drain in to work on its and another lake's dams?

Yes drained for COE assessment. I've seen no white hats on ground. Bost has stopped responding to fix Grassy emails , he's busy promoting $11million bike trail .

Early to bed, early to rise,
Fish like hell, make up lies.
Well... hopefully they'll get dams or whatever fixed, build structure, and make the lake better than ever.
I can only imagine how good that lake could be for a few years if they heavily stocked grass shrimp and fathead minnows a year or two before putting in bluegill and redear.
The lake won't be back before 2030, if ever. No funding has been allocated for the project. Until the $$$ is committed, it will sit.
The bike path really ticks me off. It is complete from Carbondale to the west edge of Crab Orchard Lake. I've never seen anyone on it east of Reed Station. Trees were cut, ground was contoured, and concrete poured. The grass is already pushing up on the new path. Lack of use will lead to wasted space at a high cost. The vines and brush will reclaim it before it is ever completed.
