    Default Black-nose

First black-nose crappie. He wasnt very big, but really neat all the same. Caught out of coffeen lake. Using crappie magnets on a 1/32oz jig. Roughly 6' down under a bobber. Name: 20240915_190302.jpg

Very nice! I love catching those "Racing Crappies"! I have caught very few that were big enough to keep but there are some out there.

I used to hardly never see them but the last couple of years they are becoming pretty common for me to catch. Congrats on your first, I'm sure not your last.

My limited crappie experience here in central Illinois, I have caught black nose at Clinton lake and Sancris lake.

Honestly, I thought you could only catch them further south.
