Since its been quiet here I figure I'd post my meager fishing report.

Went out with my brother-in-law Friday to Shabbona Lake for crappie. Hot, bluebird sky's, little to no wind. Made for a hot day on the water. We heard that the crappie were tight to the cribs that have been sunk around the lake. We fished those, trees and stumps and whatever else we could find. Most fish came off the cribs but it was only one or two and the bite shut down again. Minnows was all that worked but we tried all kinds of jigs as well.

Ended up taking 7 crappie and one gill home (tossed back 4 other crappie that were too small to keep). Had one huge (5+ pound) bass throw a hook boatside. Fun day on the water for the middle of the summer. Hopefully next time the crappie are more willing.
