Finally made it out this weekend on 3-25-18 to Clinton. First trip out this spring. Had to stick to the intake arm of the lake since the wind was blowing 30mph out of the east. Put in at the west boat ramp. We were the only boat in the parking lot. There were quite a few boats in the intake arm as everyone was trying to dodge the wind. Water temp was 44.5 - 46 degrees. Fished from noon to 2:30 and managed 11 keepers. Fish were caught anywhere from 20 feet of water to 10 feet of water holding tight to brush. Most fish were caught vertical jigging in the 20 to 17 foot range and they seemed like they didn't want much movement at all. Dropped all the way down to the bottom and fish were caught 2 to 3 cranks off the bottom and holding the jigs dead still. All fish were caught on 1/16 ounce head and a 2" bobby garland baby shad in the bone white/chartreuse color. This has been the most productive color I've found on this lake. I've never had to throw a different color on Clinton to produce fish. I also tried out the new "Slabsauce" that I picked up last week. I ended up catching 10 of the keepers and my partner had 1. I definitely will be using it more often now. Hope this report can help a few guys out.
