Saw some genious walking on Highland "old" city lake today. I wouldn't trust it, their was still open water on the east (shallow) side.
Duck hunters still busting ice on big lake.

I live on a 10-15 acre lake in SE Illinois. The lake froze on Wednesday. I was catching crappie on December 23. We drove to Evansville, Indiana today after church. There was a lot of ice flowing in the Big Wabash at the 141 bridge crossing. Ice was forming along the bank on both the Indiana and Illinois side of the river.

Can anyone till me if lake Matoon is iced over
