Made my annual trip to Canada last week. We go up to close down the Boy Scout camp, do a few chores, eat fish, drink and be merry!
I did learn a new technique which yielded a few nice walleyes. Spent most of my time hunting Walleyes and Smallmouth.
One of the younger bucks laid down a smallest fish challenge. Offer accepted.
Yep, you read that correctly. 4 1/2" on a double hook walleye rig. Took them youngins all weeks to beat me. lol
On to the important stuff. Bigger fish.
Caught this pair on a laydown of a shear cliff. Trees where on shore, with 20' of water beneath them. Caught them on my 6 pound slip bobber Crappie Slider rig.
Biggest one is 18" and smaller is 13".
Caught a bunch of Northern too.
Nothing of real size, all about 18"-21" or so. Not worth filleting.
Oddly enough, northern and smallies love Bandit lures. And the smallies really liked the pink.
Yep, caught my share of Walleyes too. Biggest was 24", and the next is 21". I can only bring home one over 18.1" and one under. Guess which one is in the freezer in the basement and which one made a great shore lunch?
What fishing trip would be complete without beer. Even brought my officially signed Bill-Bob k00zie.
Until next time.
