    Default Quick trip to Sardis

Left Monday to fish for couple of days with my buddy who lives just minutes from Sardis. Going down drove through some of the hardest rain/hail/wind between Blythville and Memphis I have ever encountered. Heard there was a tornado in the area, I believe it.
Fished two days in the heat, low 80's and I wasn't ready for that. Single pole and spider rigged both days. We released lot of fish under the 12" limit and let two over 16" ones full of eggs back to do their thing. Always a fun trip but I'm glad to be out of that heat. Drove over to Wyatt's landing Tuesday afternoon was interesting to see how low the lake is, only the Little Tallahatchie river meandering by, not out of it's banks there yet.

I make it down 2 or 3 times a year... I've been coming down since early 80's. Came down to bass fish, gradually getting into crappies. We both enjoy the cranking season more than anything. An early start with umbrella and off lake by noon usually.

Been going down for 5 years now and I really enjoy the heat when I have been freezing up here for months. Last month I got my arm sunburned and didn't realize it until to late. That was a mistake. 80 feels pretty good after sitting in 30 all winter. I would become a dam Yankee instead of just a Yankee if my wife would go with me.
