I like to fish the docks around Nelson park. They don't all hold fish, but if you move from dock to dock you will find some crappie, and big one too! Also, sometimes the seagulls get close enough to bank there to throw for whites. I also fish the Rt. 51 bridge. When the crappie move up in the rip rap there it is really good. My favorite spot is the spillway. Big fish in there! But you better be ready to lose a lot of tackle, cuz the rip rap is just everywhere. I catch a lot of stripers at the spillway, mainly on casting spoons and big sandblasters. Don't give up on Decatur, once you learn it I think it's really good. It seems to be hit or miss on the bite sometimes, but the size of the fish seem to be bigger than pretty much any of the lakes around here.
