My name is Chris I am pretty new to crappie fishing except for through the ice. I mainly fish pool 13 on the Mississippi river because I have a camper near spring lake, I always used to catfish and certainly won't be giving catfishing up but want to try new things. Last year I kind of figured out how to fish wing dams for walleye and had a blast and caught some nice fish but I thought it was a lot of work just controlling the boat to do it a lot. I have a 16 foot sea ark mod v for a boat with a 30hp merc on it and a 55 pound power drive with co pilot so it can get a little uncomfortable for me when the wind whips up or big boats get flying around in the channel. I just bought a 10 foot guide series crappie rod and have a assortment of lead heads from 1/32 all the way up to 3/4 and some plastic grub/curly tails and small tubes but looking to expand on that and get a jig mold for smaller jigs, if anybody has recommendations of other good tackle to try i'm all ears. I also do a fair amount of duck and goose hunting and a lot of trapping which takes up most of my fall which is my favorite time to fish also. I hope to learn a lot on here and just wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome.....I fish south down by Davenport south to Burlington on Mississippi for cats. Run trot lines during the summer with a commercial license. Used to be over there duck hunting much more before my uncle became ill. Otherwise in Central IL chasing gils around the area or crappies at Evergreen.
Always like trappers for hides!!!! Muskrats make good fur for gill jigs. Possum's is another good look!
Welcome Buddy!
Welcome! It's a great place . Lots of info
Welcome.
Welcome!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
