Illinois Crappies?
Chickenguy and myself have had a pretty good winter as of late utilizing some of the great resources available to really help some of us get through that winter lull until their favorite home body of water opens up. We have hit several different bodies of water throughout the state and had success on each one, but we have also been sent home with our tails tucked as far under as they can go! This however, only cost us more money because it made us determined to go back and try and figure them out. The majority of our trips were in conditions less than favorable...12 degrees, one day it was 17, one day we just got a foot of snow and the lot and ramp wasn't plowed, 2 days in a row the gear shifting cables were frozen solid, making a 2 hour drive a 5 hour drive because of a snow storm (the ranger looked real clean after) and so on...ahh but it was all worth it and we always have a good time. Here is a few pictures of our adventures, chickenguy has lots on his phone and maybe he will add em to the post. But here is a start. Next week, like half the country it seems, I head to mississippi for some down time and fishing a Crappie Masters tournament, maybe it will be warmer there
We've had some really, really nice quality fish over the course of these trips with our biggest coming this last Saturday where we had 2 over 2lbs, biggest was 2.5, and several others right around that 2lb mark. Good fish for Illinois!

This is a 12" board.
