All the crappie we caught were in 6 to 8 feet of water. We tried shallow with no luck and we tried deeper with no luck. It looked like they were holding right where the water began to drop off from 5' down to 9' or 10'. Our fish finder is embarrassingly crappy, so I couldn't tell, but I think we were fishing a weed edge. If we got off that edge (at 6' deep) very much, we had much fewer hits.
