the thing i did't like about a deep v was the way the wind blows it around.

I was thinking about buying a Crestliner 17 ft. Fish hawk and was wondering if anybody
has ever heard anything good or bad ?
I don't drink anything stronger than Pop.
And Pop doesn't care what he drinks

I wouldn't have anything but a Deep V. I've been in some real rough water on Kentucky Lake in this boat. 17ft deep v Gruman, and was not worried in the least , 3ft rollers with a 20 mph north wind, we had a 7 mile boat ride north to the boat ramp lol
always a deep v for me
I previously owned a 1650 Fish hawk and it was a great boat. I now own a Lund 1725 but would not hesitate to go to the Fish hawk. The only reason I sold it several years ago was someone wanted it more than I did and was willing to pay the price I asked. I would have bought another one but there were none available here - so I got the Lund. The only thing I didn't like was the 2-stroke motor. A Crestliner fish hawk with a 4 stroke would be superb. I've owned or fished out of most of the glass boats (Ranger, Bass Cat, Skeeter, Champion, etc.) and I would never go back to them in a bass boat configuration. Some of the glass Deep Vees are nice.

I have a deep V (Lund Explorer). Storage is lacking and can't fish two across the front. It's like a sail in the wind, but can really handle rough water well. Over all, I like it. I'm glad of that, because the boss says we are keeping it for many more years...
I have a Crestliner Fishhawk 1650. I love it. Its not to big, i still fit on the smaller lakes around my house. Yet its big enough i can hit the bigger lakes here in Michigan. It handles well in the wind i think. It has plenty of room for me, my 5yr old daughter, my wife, and my old man to fish with out stepping on toes.
Here fishy, fishy, fishy...
I'm old enough to have owned, over the years, almost enough boats to start a Navy for a small country. Now, being a certified old fart, I have a 16+' Alumacraft tiller, with a 60 HP Merc 4 stroke. Runs about 40 but with a crosswind or big waves you get wet. It blows around like a sailboat at anchor. The BEST fishing boat I ever had was a 17' Lund 'All American'. It was low in the water and rode great when it was rough, and stayed pretty dry. Flat bottoms and modified V's are a little faster, but in rough water you'll lose the fillings in your teeth. I'l take a deep V anytme.
Wind will blow any boat around, whether its glass, mod v or deep v, or tin. Its just part of the game. I've had a tin mod v and now a tin deep v, both get blown around (stern) but like the deep v better for more comfort and ease of fishing for this old fart.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
I agree, a V to me is the only way to go. It make the ride worth it.
Haddum all too. Ya can't pull v bottom up on bank as far as the others but rides much better. Get a heavy 4stroke will help hold in the wind.
