That is a Great Pic, Nice!
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
Good job! and great looking dog!

I fished shallow brush yesterday on Rend, same depth and could only manage 1 over. I kept 19 unders. I would catch about 10 small fish to about 1 keeper. Usually I have a hard time catching my unders more than anything. I've only been out a few times this autumn (not winter yet!), but from the few times I've been out it's been mostly small fish. And on top of that, many of my normal hot spots are not producing at all which I've found odd. Granted, I've only been fishing Rend for a few years.
That being said, are you guides seeing less larger fishing being caught this autumn compared to the last few years? I'd like to hear multiple guides respond to this comment.
Is Rend Lake missing a year class of crappies due to a poor spawn a few years back possibly?
I'm curious what you guides are seeing, if it's just me, and what others have been seeing on Rend Lake this autumn. I have read some reports where people are reporting small fish this year, and people complaining about the limits on Rend. I'd like to hear some input from people who fish the lake a LOT that could comment about this who have the experience on the lake.
I know the higher water has hampered my fishing some. I can't see the brush/stakes/laydowns as well that I want to pick apart. I was hoping the higher water than the last few years would mean that this cover would hold more fish, but that does not seem to be the case.
I'm at a loss ...
Wow. Don't over think it. Time on the water will prevail. Rend is full of fish and big fish on top of that. It is the time spent that wins over anything. Just keep fishin and good things will come. That's been our experience. Nice fish Scottie. Jerk.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Daron you had your chance to go with me. Lol
X, as far as the answer to your question. I have been catching big fish all year. Just havent been posting. I do think the big fish population may be down some but not that bad. I personally think the limit needs to be changed to 10 over 10 and thats it. As far as the spawn goes i think the spawn was really good. And you have to remember the fishin pressure has doubled in the last several years. I think anyway. And a lot of it has to do with websites such as this one. Thats one of the reasons i dont post like i used to. Nothin personal but i dont want to go out and do all the work for someone else to benefit from.

I personally think the 9"-11" fish population is down but the 12+ and under 9" population is up. I agree with Scottie that the fishing pressure has doubled in the last few years and that could be a cause for the lower numbers or there might have been a pore spawn for that year class idk. Opinions are like butt holes everyone has one though. Lol
