    Default Lake MI ?

I had posted this over on the Mi board so I will also post here. Does anyone go way off shore fishing for crappie on Lake Michigan?

there are probably a few spots that have crappie in lake michigan. ive caught crappie in lake huron before, specifically saginaw bay inlets and also one tributary. i was never targeting crappie though. i was fishing for perch. the crappie were just in following the minnows i assume. regardless, i dont think targeting crappie on any of the great lakes is worth it. lake saint clair would be my only choice.

Well, If you found some you would probably have a bonanza on your hands since nobody is fishing for them.

Russ has done several shows fishing for them on Erie, so I'm sure they are in Michigan.

They can be found in the occasionly in theharbors around the pier pillings But for them to suspend in the big water the salmon would feast on them pretty good.

Alewives are king salmon primary diet in the Great Lakes. Crappie are not included in their diet.

Now wouldn't that be something to fish for..........untouched crappies gorging themselves on gobies and growing to 4-5 lbs.
    bring it on.
Crappie fisherman know what I mean.......black or white, they all taste the same.

dont need a boat, they are in there.close to shore and the chicago river.also walleyes pike bluegills large mouths tons of big rock bass and of course perch and smallies.the salmon are an invasive species.lake mi is returning to its native state little by little.so are the rivers.the fishing could be epic for kids and grand kids.
