Saturday might have been the single best day of fishng I ever had. Ever.
I started out heading over to the Lake around 8:30 PM on Friday and made it to R&K in time to get some minnows. Bought 10 dozen as a friend was suppose to join me in the morning. As I am now storing my boat over there, I worked on getting it and me ready for the weekend. That took me till well past midnight and as I was going to spend the night at the Findlay Marina area I went ahead and put in at Eagle Creek to save me a boat ride from Wolf Creek.
Fished there until daybreak and didn't do as well as times past and decided to hit a cove or two south on my way back south. It took quite awhile but I finally found them and at one time I could simply not drop a line in the water and not come out with one or two fish - and that lasted for well over an hour!
From my prey of Crappie to even Largemouth Bass or even Yellow Bass, they were hitting my two hook rig Brian Cleland introduced me to several years ago.
And it started off with the 14+ incher! Most were just under 10" but I got my limit and then came back on Sunday.
Unfortunately, I forgot to leave the boat on charge and the extra battery I brought home to charge...well, either the battery has gone bad after three outings or the Sears charger didn't work - or both. So I was limited on where and how to fish.
However I persevered and pulled another limit out of the same area with a couple of very nice ones - that group is on the towels.
I don't ever recall catching that many fish except for the White Bass when they are on...
nice catch

I determined it was the battery. It was only two months old and I was able to replace it today at Advance Auto. been buying my batteries there and have had good luck until this one. I also use them for Snow goose hunting but keep them maintained. The two hook rigs are great and if you don't have time to make them, some Walmart's sell the Caps and Coleman one in the 3/8 and 1/2 ounce sizes for $8.56 or so.
Headed back tomorrow and the neighbor is following me. He did well up north on Tuesday out of Wilborn before the RR Bridge...
Good Story Bob. Thanks for sharing
