You can tell it's been a super spring, when every day the fish cleaning stations are piled high with the remains of crappie. Everyone I talk to is a crappie expert. You need to fish close to the bank, you need to use black and chart., you need to use minnows, you need to fish with a cork, you need to tight-line. In other words if you aren't catching fish, you have a problem.
The biggest problem is getting out of the wind. A lot of the spots that the bank fisherman use,(to get out of the wind) are the same ones a lot of visitors to the lake are using. It almost gets too crowded. You need to get a number to fish at the coal-shaft bridge.
Here's Delmar with a nice one that got put back.
Its good to see ole Delmar out fishing, I havn't seen him or heard him all year. LOL.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
That's a bigun for sure. How big was it?
Nah, he caught the same fish twice, so you had to take 2 pictures and frame it the exact same way. Trick it getting the waves right.
That is a Dandy! I hate fighting crowds, absolutely brings out the "best" in folks.
Most men spend their entire life fishing, without realizing its not the fish they are after!
