Aj33 Johnson creek will warm up faster this time of year since the water is usually muddy up there and also it's shallower. I like fishing that area a lot because I like fishing in muddier water, but I'm not going to say it's better.

Went this afternoon, after fishing too deep to start, snapping my trolling motor prop in half, hitting an obstruction with the lower unit, getting caught on a stump, battling the wind, I finally found a few. By a few I mean three...all from the same stump and last one of the day. While I'm wore out mentally, it was the first three crappie I've ever caught so at that point the cussing stopped and the day ended with a glimmer of promise. It was starting to get dark so I couldn't fish more. I'll be back tomorrow around 3ish. They were in 12-14' hugging the stump and the bottom. Guessing they will be more shallow tomorrow afternoon.
