    Default kinkaid 3/22

Took my buddy out to Kinkaid yesterday and we ended up doing really well. Caught our limit in about 2.5 hours or so, and we caught all of our fish on jigs 1.5 feet deep in 2-6 fow. Majority of all our fish were around 10 inches with a few close to 13". Surface temps I was finding were anywhere from 49-55 degrees.

I was at Kinkaid Saturday completing the rest of the break in on my rebuilt motor. Fished for a while but didn't do well. Obviously different types of days, but I certainly didn't expect they would be that shallow this soon. BUT, I'm a crappie rookie so shows what I know. Just goes against what I've been reading as I try to become somewhat competent.

Aj33 this time of the year on kinkaid when the surface temps start getting above 45, you will start having some fish move up shallow on the warmer sunny days that's why I always start fishing later in the day right now to let the water warm up a bit. Also keep your eye on the surface temps on your electronics a 2 degree spike in water temp can make a huge difference right now when the water temps are still this cold, those fish are typically looking for the warmest water to be in.

Thank you for the tips, much appreciated. Is up around Johnson creek better? I dunked at Kinkaid Marina and fished mostly fairly close. Temps where I was were around 43. Hoping to get back Sunday and try again.

I fished that Friday but didnt do so good. The water temp was 45 - 46 on my electronics and I was off the lake by 11:00AM. First fish was 12' deep in 15+ fow on jig second fish was 5' in 6 fow so needless to say my cooler is still empty. I like AJ33 were looking for them in deeper water as I am a rookie. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
