    Default Birdys First...

Limit of overs for the 2014 year. I had zero intentions of fishing yesterday as I was getting ready for the mississippi trip, but had to run a few things over by the lake and said eh what the heck, and threw in my boots a coupla jigs, golden rule, and a rod and off I went. When I got there I honestly thought there would be no way I was going to catch anything but I wanted to try anyways...it had been too long! Water was chocolate with under a inch visibility, 25 degree temp drop in 24 hours and the 30mph winds made it fun, but to my surprise I caught around 25 crappie and one really nice largemouth. I was fishing in less than 2ft of water fishing 8 inches to 12 inches deep (no lie) using a black and orange blood squirt tube. The fish were absolutely smoking the jig and it was sure fun. I had several swipe and boil at it too that I sure would of liked to see. All of my overs were no doubters with the exception of 2 right at that 10" mark. I dusted off my ville cobwebs, no yall go dust yours off!

Good job Birdy, your sure right about it being dirty, we tried Saturday and didn't do any good, I don't know how you stood it out there yesterday. They called the green carp tournament off on Sangchris they were so worried about the wind.

Nice group Birdman! Sometimes those are the best of days. When your not expecting much. Love it!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Awesome Post. Now I am really excited to get out and catch some slabs. All I need is some time to do it.

Man birdie, I sure wouldn't of thought they would be that shallow this early and in that muddy water like that.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
