    Default Ohio River

Here are some pics from a couple of trips to the river I took with my Son and Dad this fall. We fished with emerald shiners and Bobby Garland jigs on both trips. Good Times!

The creeks that we fish on Smithland Pool have silted in with mud over the past several years. Especially the mouths of the creeks. My favorite creek from the past (Dog Creek) is just a shadow of itself now. But with that said, the fishing can still be good if all the conditions are right.

I used to love takin a bucket of minnows and a cane pole to bay creek in the spring with my grandpa. I've never done much down there in the fall.

Nice Catch. Do you ever try to fish Bayou? I know it is a huge creek. Bass fish is great back in this creek. Never crappie fished it

I have fished Bayou, but it has probably been 5 years ago. Some of the guys I work with like to fish Bayou, since they live in Kentucky. They catch some nice fish in this creek, with fall and spring being best. The one drawback to fishing Bayou is the mouth of the creek has silted in making it tough to access at times from the main river.

Used to catch quite a few in Dog Creek. First place I ever saw Asian Carp. Mouth was really silting in 15 years ago.

You guys have in luck during the winter? I fish the cannelton and mcalpine pools, and was curious how the winter bite is.

Great job on the fish. Looks like some Ohio river good ones. Same thing up here with the creeks silting in the Meldahl pool badly over the years. Most of them on the Kentucky side anyhow.
